尚、以下の①〜③の場合、「or not」は省略可能です。

①「whether」が含まれる名詞節が、文の主語の場合：

Whether (or not) the game will be played depends on the weather.

②「whether」が含まれる名詞節が、動詞の目的語の場合：

He wonders whether (or not) the game will be played.

③「whether」が含まれる名詞節が、前置詞の目的語の場合：

The game will be played depending on whether (or not) it rains.
